These terms apply to the Did You Mean app and this site. By using either, you accept them.

The licence

You may use Did You Mean for personal, non-commercial play, on any device you control. You may not resell it, redistribute modified copies, or reverse engineer it except where the law says you may.

Fair play

You agree not to:

• Automate play, or submit results the app did not produce.
• Interfere with scoring, leaderboards, or another player's run.
• Send traffic at a rate designed to overload the service, or work around the rate limits.
• Use the search feature to look for material that is illegal where you are.

Runs that appear automated or manipulated can be removed from leaderboards, and access can be withdrawn. Where the outcome is unclear we would rather ask than ban — write to us.

Your progress

Progress is tied to a random identifier held on your device, not to an account you can log into. If you uninstall the app, lose the device, or clear its storage, that progress cannot be recovered — there is nothing to prove it was yours.

Search results

Result titles and links come from a third-party search engine. We do not choose, endorse, or control them, and we cannot guarantee that every result is accurate or inoffensive. Report anything that should not be surfaced and we will look at excluding it.

Puzzles and availability

Puzzles are generated automatically and validated before publication, but the web changes and a puzzle can become unsolvable. We may withdraw one and adjust that day's results. The service is offered as it is: we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults.

Price

Did You Mean is free. There are no purchases, subscriptions, or ads. If that ever changes, it will change here first.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the game. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.
